Privacy Policy
Overview
PrivaNota is built for privacy. Voice transcription runs locally, and you choose between a fully offline on-device AI model or a free, optional larger model through Apple Private Cloud Compute. PrivaNota does not collect, track, sell, or retain your data.
Data Processing
- Private model choice: Transcription runs locally. Choose the on-device model for fully offline AI, or select PCC for a larger model.
- Private Cloud Compute: Apple says PCC uses personal data only to fulfill the request, makes it unavailable even to Apple staff, and does not retain it—including through logging. Read Apple’s PCC security overview.
- No analytics: The app contains no third-party analytics, ads, or tracking SDKs.
- Storage: Notes and summaries are stored locally on your device and protected by the system.
Backups
You can optionally export an encrypted backup file with the .privanota extension. Only the PrivaNota iOS app can decrypt and open this file. You control where you store this file.
Accounts
No account is required. We do not operate a PrivaNota account or note server and do not host your notes. Optional PCC requests are processed by Apple only when you select that model.
Payments
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments directly and do not receive your payment details.
Children
PrivaNota is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, updates will be reflected in the app and on this page.
